WHO AM I?
I am Maggie Liu. I am thirteen years old. I like reading and writing. I wrote a novel. I don't know what goes on in my brain. It has escaped its prison and sashayed onto this blog. Please read it, I'm attention-hungry.
HOW IT STARTED
I've been writing for fun since who-knows-when-ago (my first real work was Frozen fanfiction at age 6). I've been entering my writing into competitions since I was 9. I started novel writing in the summer of 2020, because COVID was going on and I had nothing to do. But then I found that my novel was actually going somewhere, so I kept writing, and now I have a draft!
WHERE I AM NOW
I'm currently ankle-deep in the querying process– I've gotten a lot of rejections, of course, but I'll keep trying. Meanwhile, I have another novel that's currently scratching at my four remaining brain cells that I'm plotting.
Honestly, I'm planning to just self-publish sometime in 2023, and hope it works out for the best.

Yep! I am canonically thirteen (13) years old.
AND YOUR PARENTS DON'T WRITE YOUR BOOKS FOR YOU.
They do not! All my ideas and writing are mine. Plus, my parents, being my parents, are moderately old people. They could never pull off my brand of amazing humor, eh?
WHAT DO YOU LIKE OTHER THAN WRITING?
I like the color blue– which I'm sure you couldn't tell until you read this. I also like dark chocolate, and I wish that anyone who likes white chocolate has their spoon fall into their soup and has a pillow with both sides warm. It isn't even chocolate!
Aside from that, I also like reading, of course, especially the sci-fi/fantasy and MG/YA genres. I follow a physically unhealthy number of fandoms.
Additionally, I like music. I play cello and I have been learning opera singing since I was 5, and I am capable of playing piano but incapable of producing anything but noise when doing so. I do write songs once in a while at 3AM, but I never actually produce anything.
Finally, I like the words "hobgoblin" and "quinoa".
